China Southern Power Grid is expected to receive an additional RMB 810 million in central government funding by the end of 2008, according to the Development and Reform Commission's (NDRC) plan to add RMB 100 billion central investments this year. RMB 500 million and RMB 310 million will be used to improve power grids in western areas and rural regions respectively. It was reported that the additional RMB 810 million will bring the company's total investment in infrastructure to RMB 4.05 billion for this year and the company is planning to raise its original expenditure plan by RMB 60 billion over the following two years.
